Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team captured an 85-64 win over Hillsdale College on Thursday, December 17 in Hillsdale, Michigan. The win, which was their 20th straight against the Chargers, gives the Oilers a 6-3 record on the season with a 3-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The Oilers, who were down 22-20 with 8:55 remaining in the first half, put the game out of reach by going on a 24-2 run to close the opening period. They then cruised through the second half to pick up their third straight victory.
As a team, the Oilers blistered the nets and hit 57.4 percent (31-of-54) of their attempts and they also drained 57.9 percent (11-of-19) of their three point attempts in the win.
Junior guard Nathan Hyde led the way with a career-high 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, also chipping in four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the game.
Senior guard Marcus Parker added 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting as he hit all four of his triple tries while freshman forward Jack Smith contributed a career-high 17 points and six rebounds.
Freshman guard Aaron Robinson also played well as he recorded 13 points and six rebounds while junior forward Tyler Sparks chipped in ten points, six rebounds and three steals in his first collegiate start.
The Oilers will be back in action again on December 28 when they host the University of Toronto at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
