Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, defeated Ferris State University 85-62 on Saturday, February 7 in Croy Gymnasium. The win gives the Oilers a 20-0 record on the season with a 16-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
As a team, Findlay shot 56.6 percent (30-of-53) from the floor and drilled 8-of-15 (53.3%) of their three point tries. They also forced the Bulldogs into 20 turnovers and came away with 15 steals during the victory.
The Oilers were led by senior All-American forward Josh Bostic who stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, five assists, five steals and four rebounds.
Junior guard Marcus Parker added 17 points and six assists while sophomore guard Nathan Hyde pumped in 13 points to go along with four boards and a pair of steals.
Senior forward Morgan Lewis added nine points, eight rebounds, three steals and three assists while senior center Lee Roberts was good for nine points and four boards in the win which gave head coach Ron Niekamp his 18th, 20-win season in 24 years at Findlay.
Justin Keenan led the Bulldogs, who shot 42.1 percent (24-of-57) from the floor, with a game-high 25 points.
Findlay will be back in action again on Thursday, February 12 when they host Northwood University at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
