Oilers Rout Warriors 88-65

The University of Findlay men's basketball team captured their sixth straight win on the season after defeating Wayne State University 88-65 on Thursday, January 7 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory runs the Oilers record to 9-3 on the year with a 5-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers, who tied the Warriors for first place in the South Division with the win, shot 58.0 percent (29-of-50) from the floor and connected on 7-of-12 (58.3%) of their three point tries in the game. They also out-rebounded Wayne State 31-22 and forced 19 turnovers, 14 coming on steals.

Junior center Jason Wehri set a new career-high with 17 points and six rebounds in the game, also adding an assist and a block.

Junior forward Tyler Sparks had his best game since returning from injury with 17 points, seven rebounds and a pair of steals while senior guard Marcus Parker chipped in 13 points and five assists.

Junior guard Nathan Hyde scored 11 points to go along with four rebounds, four steals and three assists while freshman guard Aaron Robinson had ten points, five steals and four assists in the win.

The Warriors were led by Ike Udanoh's 17 points and eight rebounds.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday when they host Northwood University at 3:00 p.m.
