Oilers Finish 1st Day at Miami

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's outdoor track and field teams completed the first day of the Miami Invitational on Friday, April 6 in Oxford, Ohio.

Jessica Rowland won the hammer throw with a NCAA automatic qualifying heave of 192'10.  The mark was good enough to set a new school record and is the top mark in the nation at this point in time.

Samantha Hassen added a fifth place finish in the 10,000-meter run at 38:54.03 while teammate Abigail Magner was ninth in the same event after crossing the finish line in 40:43.10.

Shoayb Bascal finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a school record breaking time of 14:15.60 while Derrick Vicars was fifth in the hammer throw with a NCAA provisional toss of 188'01.

Brock Lloyd added an eighth place finish in the 10,000-meter run at 34:31.11.

The Oilers will complete the event tomorrow.
