Findlay Splits At Tiffin

The University of Findlay softball team split a doubleheader with Tiffin University on Saturday, March 30, winning 6-3 in the second game after losing 9-1 in the opener. The split gives the Oilers a 12-6 record on the season and a 2-4 mark in conference action.

In the opener, Nicole Motuza took the loss, giving up six runs on six hits and one walk.

Five Oilers each had a base hit in game one as Emily Reynolds drove in the lone run for Findlay.

Tawna Whited picked up her fifth win of the season while fanning four batters. She allowed three runs from nine hits.

Jenna Motuza was 4-for-4 at the plate as Whited and Morgan Arnold each homered in the nightcap. Reynolds and Brittany Dauterman each generated two RBI in the 6-3 victory over Tiffin.

The Oilers will host GLIAC rival Saginaw Valley on Tuesday, April 2. The twinbill is slated for 3 p.m. at Anderson Field.
