Oilers Defeat Pioneers 4-1

The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Malone University 4-1 on Friday, September 26 in Canton, Ohio. 

The Oilers jumped out to a 1-0 lead when junior Kendall Kwiatkowski scored at the 6 minute mark.  Her goal was assisted by senior Eryn Weber

The Oilers extended their lead when senior Rachel Louie scored unassisted at the 21 minute mark. 

The scoring spree continued for the Oilers when Weber scored at the 26 minute mark.  Her goal was assisted by junior Carly Morris

The Pioneers lone goal occurred when Christine Najjar scored at the 27 minute mark. 

The Oilers delivered their final blow of the contest at the 54 minute mark when freshman Lindsay Straw scored off of an assist from sophomore Niki Mikolcic

Findlay goalkeeper Samantha Trimboli claimed the victory in the net and had 11 saves in the process. 

The Oilers had the edge offensively with a 23-22 advantage in the shot department. 

The Oilers, who are now 4-2 on the year, will host GLIAC rival Grand Valley State University on Sunday, September 28 at 12 p.m.
