Findlay Drops Two Matches at Midwest Regional Crossover

Hamond, Indiana- The University of Findlay's volleyball team completed day one at the 2021 Midwest Regional Crossover on Friday, Oct. 15 with a pair of matches.  

The Oilers started the day with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-15) loss to University of Missouri St. Louis and ended the day with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-22) loss to Ferris State University. With the pair of losses, the Oilers record comes to 11-5 on the season and 7-2 in the Great Midwest Athletic conference.   

In the first match the Oilers took on Missouri St. Louis.  

The Oilers hit just .124. They were led by freshman Journey Blevins who hit .302 with a team high of 18 kills. Contributing 7 kills was sophomore Hannah Warrington. On the defensive side, senior Ashton Terrill and sophomore Alissa Rhodes both added 9 digs. Junior Emma Meyer assisted with 4 digs.  

Game 2, the Oilers fell to Ferris State University. 

The Oilers were led again by freshman Journey Blevins who recorded 12 kills. Junior Emma Meyer hit .571 adding 8 kills. On the defensive side senior Ashton Terrill had 16 digs. The Oilers hit .142 on the game.  

The Oilers will be back tomorrow Saturday, Oct. 16 at 12:45pm at the Midwest Regional Crossover as they take on Lindenwood University.
