Track Wins 14 Events | Reach 11 Provisional Marks

The University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams wrapped up the Oiler Opener on Dec. 3 inside the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex. The two teams combined to win 14 events, reach 11 NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks, and set one school record.

On the men's side, senior Nick DeHaven won the 3,000-meter run with a school record-breaking time of 8:19.82, which was also good enough to reach the provisional. Junior Josh Verhoff also had a great meet as he won the 200-meter dash with a provisional time of 21.72 and claimed the top spot in the 60-meter dash after crossing the finish line in 6.94.

Sophomore Eliot Cummings was victorious in the long jump with a provisional leap of 24'00.25, senior Martin Etsey claimed the top honor in the triple jump with a provisional mark of 48'02.00, senior Gabe Makin was first in the pole vault with a provisional mark of 16'04.75, freshman Dylan Reason was first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.82, and junior Cameron Stine won the gold in the high jump at 16'04.75.

Sophomroe Alex Mutchler also achieved a provisional mark in the pole vault, finishing second at 16'04.75.

On the women's side, junior Lindsey Kluesener won the pole vault with a provisional mark of 13'05.25 while junior Morgan England (13'01.50) and senior Meadow Cromer (12'07.50) finished second and third, respectively, with provisional qualifying marks.

Junior Paige Emnett was victorious in the shot put with a provisional heave of 46'11.75, freshman Kassandra Stine won the high jump at 5'03.75, senior Hayley Robinett was first in the 400-meter dash after crossing the finish line in 59.17, sophomore Madison Myers won the triple jump at 36'11.75, and junior Simone Green claimed gold in the long jump at 18'01.75.

Emnett also reached a provisional in the weight throw, finishing second at 57'05.00.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 14 in Hillsdale, Mich.
