Erie, Pa. – The University of Findlay wrestling team, ranked tenth in the country, took on the Mercyhurst Lakers, ranked 14th in the country, on Friday, Feb. 11 in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Roughnecks were handed a 39-2 loss in the dual.
Findlay's lone victory of the evening came at 184 pounds where Mark Trifelos defeated Brent Burbules with a 2-0 decision.
At 141 pounds, Findlay's Branson Proudlock, ranked second in the country, dropped a close 2-1 decision at the hands of senior Alexis Soriano, ranked 12th in the country.
The Roughnecks will be back in action on Feb. 26 when they head to Wheeling, West Virginia for the NCAA DII Regional.
