Oilers Fall 74-68 to 5th-Ranked Ashland

The University of Findlay women's basketball team fell 74-68 to 5th-ranked Ashland University on Feb. 24 in Niekamp Arena. The loss gives the Oilers a 13-14 record on the year with an 11-10 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers shot 51 percent (26-of-61) from the floor and made 5-of-10 (50%) three point attempts. The Eagles meanwhile hit 42.9 percent (24-of-56) of their shot attempts and canned 11-of-27 (40.7%) three point tries.

Senior forward Sydney Kin led the Oilers with 20 points, ten rebounds, and six steals while junior guard Lauren Hapgood had 13 points.

Sophomore guard Kate Ellis came off the bench to provide 12 points while senior guard Amber Schweiger had nine points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Senior forward Bridget Landin nearly reached double figures and finished with seven points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

The Eagles were led by Hallie Heidemann and Erin Daniels who each scored 16 points.

The Oilers will be back at home on Saturday to host Tiffin University at 11am.
