Oilers Sweep | Win G-MAC Titles

It was a banner day inside the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex as the University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams won Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) titles on Feb. 26. For the men, it was their second straight title and third in the last five years as they finished with 148.50 points. The women captured their first indoor title since joining the conference and won with 140 points.

The men's title came down to the final event as the Oilers 4x400-meter relay team consisting of senior Lane Kolb, freshman Dylan Reason, sophomore Isaac Webb, and senior Xavier Marable captured first place with a time of 3:21.12 to pull the squad out of second and into first.

Marable also added a first place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.75 while senior Martin Etsey was victorious in the triple jump with a mark of 14.50 meters.

Sophomore Gabriel Foster took runner-up honors in the 800-meter with a time of 1:54.32 and senior Nick DeHaven was second in the mile after crossing the finish line in 4:13.95.

Freshman Chris Campbell also took home some hardware at the event as he was named the G-MAC Freshman of the Meet.

On the women's side, junior Morgan England took home first place honors in the pole vault with a NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 4.09 meters while senior Meadow Cromer was the runner-up with a provisional mark of 4.04 meters. Junior Lindsey Kluesener took fourth in the event as well with a provisional mark of 3.94 meters.

Junior Simone Green added another title on Saturday as she won the triple jump with a provisional mark of 11.83. Green was tabbed the G-MAC Female Field Athlete of the Meet for her performance at the event.

Sophomore Kylie Ray took home a runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a provisional time of 8.73, freshman Kassandra Stine took second in the pentathlon with 3,178 points, junior Paige Emnett was third in the shot put with a provisional heave of 14.67 meters, and freshman Trista Fintel took sixth in the shot put with a provisional toss of 13.87 meters.
