Indianapolis, Ind. - The University of Findlay softball team came up with two victories today at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional to extend their season. They opened the day with a 2-0 win over Ohio Dominican University before sending top-seeded University of Indianapolis home with a 5-3 victory.

started their day off with a win or go home game against the Ohio Dominican Panthers in an NCAA DII Midwest Regional matchup. After a close 2-0 win and some impressive work on the mound, the Oilers were able to move on to a second game against the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds.

Game one was all about the performance of senior Megan Demler, who recorded a perfect game to lead the Oilers to a victory over the Panthers. Demler, who became the Oilers first pitcher to throw a perfect game since Chelsea McManaway did so against on Saginaw Valley State University on April 17, 2016, struck out seven in 7.0 innings of work.

Sophomore Avery Shepherd paced the offense by going 2-for-3 with a run batted in while senior Kyla Snow plated a run with a single. Demler and senior Caroline Turner each had a single in the win as well.

In game two, the Oilers found themselves down 3-0 in the third inning before Shepherd got things going with a home run to left field. Demler then followed with a single and was out at second on a fielder's choice by senior Lexie Hilling. After a walk by Turner, freshman Brooke Radermacher sent one way over the fence in left field for a three-run homer to give Findlay a 4-3 advantage. The Oilers would then add one more run in the third inning when freshman Addison Bender scored on a wild pitch.

Hilling started the game and allowed three runs, only two earned, in 1.1 innings of work. She was replaced by Demler, who picked up her second win of the day by throwing 5.2 innings of shutout ball.

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow where they will face Grand Valley State University at 9am in Indianapolis, Ind. They will need to defeat the Lakers twice tomorrow to advance to the Sweet 16.
