Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team took on the #1 Ashland University Eagles on Saturday, Oct. 21. Due to continuous rain, the Oilers took on the Eagles in a muddy matchup which ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw. With the tie the Oilers are now 9-3-3 overall and 9-1-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) while the Eagles are now 13-0-2 overall and 9-0-2 in the G-MAC.
The first half saw back and forth action across the field. Just a minute into the second half an own goal by the Oilers would give the Eagles their only goal of the match. With just 12 minutes left in play sophomore Peyton Miller would find the back of the net to tie up the contest.
The Eagles outshot the Oilers 4-1 in the first half, but Findlay would take control in the second half outshooting them 9-5. Senior goalkeeper
Kennedy Slovak recorded two saves to help shut down the Eagles' offense.
The Oilers look ahead as they host the Northwood University Timberwolves on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 4pm at DeHaven Soccer Complex for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game.
