Soccer Takes Down Ashland on the Road

Ashland. Ohio – The University of Findlay men's soccer team went on the road to compete against the Ashland University Eagles this Saturday, Oct. 28. The Oilers were victorious over the Eagles by a final score of 2-1. With this win Findlay's record moves to 6-6-4 overall and 4-6-3 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while Ashland's record moves to 6-9-3 and 6-5-3 in the G-MAC. 

The Oilers started off the game strong, scoring twice in the first half. The first goal was scored in the 10th minute of play by Jesse Levine. Cooper Solomon scored a second unassisted goal for the Oilers just 22 minutes later, putting Findlay ahead of the Eagles 2-0. Ashland scored one goal in the second half but it wasn't enough to come back against the Oilers.  

Cooper Solomon took three shots and Oiliver Lindstrom took two shots during the match. Jesse LevineDavid Hug, Christian PalushajZach Lauron and Carson Oberski each took one shot during play. Senior goalkeeper Andrew Boulton made four saves during play. 

Ashland outshot Findlay 14-10 although Findlay out-saved Ashland 4-2. The Oilers were given one yellow card while Eagles were awarded three. The teams were tied 13-all for fouls during the match.  

The Oilers will be back in action Tuesday, Oct. 31 when they travel to Tiffin University to face the Dragons at 2:30pm for the regular-season's finale.
