Volleyball Sweeps Ursuline

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay volleyball team welcomed the Ursuline College Arrows to Croy Gymnasium, Sunday, Oct. 29. In an afternoon match, the Oilers swept the visiting arrows by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-12). With the win, Findlay improves to 19-6 on the year with a 12-3 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Meanwhile, Ursuline falls to 1-26 on the season with a 1-14 record in league play.

As a team, Findlay hit .356, recording 42 kills on 90 attempts while making just ten errors. The Oilers were able to hold Ursuline to a .080 hitting percentage. The Arrows had 25 kills on 88 attempts and made 18 errors. 

Leading the Oilers on offense was sophomore Lauren Foerster. The Salem, Wis. native recorded a team-high ten kills while hitting an impressive .714. She also added to blocks.

Freshman Hannah Miller chipped in nine kills while hitting .389. Sophomore Alana Pohlman was a presence in the front row for Findlay, recording eight kills while hitting .368. Pohlman also led the team in blocks, with four. 

Sophomore Emma White ran Findlay's offense, recording 35 assists.

Fellow sophomore Kenzie Hoelscher also had a team-high four blocks. Defensively, junior Ava Doster led the team with ten digs. White chipped in with nine digs. 

Freshman Zoya Winkelfoos led the Oilers from the service line, recording a team-high two aces.

The Oilers will be back in action as they travel to Pepper Pike, Ohio to take on the Ursuline Arrows again. That contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.
