Offensive Onslaught Results in Single Goal | Oilers Take Down Tiffin


Tiffin, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team went on the road to compete against the Tiffin University Dragons this Tuesday Oct. 31 for their last regular season matchup of the year. After a late game goal, the Oilers came out triumphant with a 1-0 win. With the win the Oilers advance to 10-4-4 overall and 10-2-2 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) while the Dragons move to 3-9-5 overall and 3-8-3 in the G-MAC.  

The Oilers remained in control for the duration of the match, recording a season-high 25 shots, 14 of them being on goal. Tiffin, meanwhile, managed just a single shot, the fewest shots allowed by the Oilers in a game this season. With just 10 minutes left in the game, senior Hannah Rybicki would find the back of the net to lead the Oilers to a 1-0 victory. It was Rybicki's ninth goal of the season, which is currently tied for the most in the conference this year. 

Hannah Rybicki would record five shots on goal during the match. Sydney Noble and Ellie Janszen both took three, Allie Arnold added 2, and Ella Pugh attempted one. Senior goalkeeper Kennedy Slovak recorded a major save to help shut down the Dragons offense. 

The Oilers look ahead to hosting the G-MAC Tournament Quarterfinal matchup on Saturday Nov 4th. Findlay's opponent is yet to be decided.
