Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay department of athletics has announced the hiring of
Austin Combs as their new assistant track and field coach, specializing in throws.
Combs has become part of the staff following an exceptional career as a student-athlete at Findlay. A three-time NCAA Division II National Champion, Combs is one of the most decorated athletes to wear the Orange and Black. He was an eleven-time all-American, two-time Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athlete of the Year, and won five Great Midwest Conference Championships during his time at UF. Combs still holds the Division II record for the hammer throw.
After winning the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in the hammer throw, Combs earned the right to compete at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.Â
While attending Findlay, Combs was coached by Blaine Magg who was arguably one of the most successful track and field coaches in program history.
A native of Findlay, Ohio, Combs earned his undergraduate degree in strength and conditioning from UF in 2022.
