Findlay Falls in Five to Ohio Dominican

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's volleyball team fell short in a late game comeback against Ohio Dominican, falling 3-2 (26-24, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25, 15-12). With the loss Findlay falls to 9-3 on the season and 3-2 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. Meanwhile, Ohio Dominican improves to 5-6 on the year with a 2-3 mark in league play.

Findlay faced close defeats in the first and second sets, with a mere two-point difference in each. Nevertheless, they bounced back by clinching victories in both the third and fourth sets. Despite their impressive efforts, Findlay ultimately succumbed in the fifth and final set.

As a team, Findlay hit .115, racking up 58 kills and making 37 errors. Meanwhile, Ohio Dominican hit just .073, recording 50 kills but making just 37 errors.

Leading the Oilers was freshman Kirsten Bomholt. Despite hitting just .019, she recorded 15 kills in the contest. 

Following her dominant performance last night, sophomore Lauren Foerster added 12 kills and hit .320. She also had a team-high six blocks. Freshman Hannah Miller also added 12 kills for the Orange and Black. Miller also recorded 17 digs. 

Assisting Miller defensively was junior Ava Doster who also had 17 digs. Emma White recorded 14 digs while leading the team with 47 assists.

The Oilers will be back in action Sep. 26 as they hit the road to take on the Northwood Timberwolves at 7pm.
