Owensboro, KY - The University of Findlay men's soccer team traveled to Owensboro to take on Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Oilers dominated from the first whistle, defeating the Panthers by a score of 4-0. With the victory, Findlay has won three games in a row, along with five of their last six. Their record now stands at 8-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, Kentucky Wesleyan falls to 6-3-2 overall and 4-2-2 in conference.
Getting the offense started for the Oilers was junior
Anton Graf, who found the back of the net in the 16th minute. With this goal, Graf has now recorded his first career goal as an Oiler. Findlay kept the momentum going scoring another goal just four minutes later, this time coming from sophomore
Oliver Lindstrom. Putting the game away was
Brendan Ash, who continued his stellar season scoring goals in both the 77th and 85th minutes to raise his season total to seven.
The Oilers dominated in all areas on the stat sheet, including out shooting the Panthers nine to five. Kentucky Wesleyan was only able to muster three shots on goal and saw Findlay goalkeeper
Keegan Grant turn away all of them, leading the Oilers to another clean sheet.
The Oilers now turn to their match-up on Saturday, Oct. 19 to take on Tiffin at home for senior night. Kickoff will be at 1 pm as they look to extend their win streak to four.
