Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team hosted the Ursuline College Arrows Saturday Oct. 12th. After a nearly two-hour weather delay, the game ended in a 1-1 tie. With the tie the Oilers move to 3-3-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) and 3-4-3 overall and the Arrows move to 2-3-2 in the G-MAC and 2-4-4 overall.
The lone goal for the Oilers was scored by senior Ellie Janszen after a throw in assist by sophomore Ashlyn Brown just 20 minutes into the first half. However, it would not be enough to hold off the Arrows. A goal five minutes into the second half by the Arrows would tie the game 1-1.
The Oilers remained in control throughout the match recording 23 shots, with 11 on target to the arrows 10, with five on target. Senior goalkeeper Maria White started the game and recorded four saves, only allowing one to slide by.
The Oilers will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 17th as they travel to Columbus, Ohio and face off against the Ohio Dominican Panthers.
