Findlay Wins in Night Contest at Ohio Dominican

Columbus, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team traveled to Columbus, Ohio to face off against the Ohio Dominican Panthers. After a match up under the lights the Oilers took a 2-1 win over the Panthers. With the win the Oilers advance to 4-3-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play and 4-4-3 overall. While ODU drops to 4-1-4 in G-MAC play and 4-4-5 overall.  

The Oilers had a quick start with a goal in the 13th minute of play by junior Sydney Noble taking the early 1-0 lead. Then just 10 minutes into the second half senior Ellie Janszen would find the back of the net off an assist from senior Hannah Rybicki putting the Oilers up 2-0. The Panthers scored their lone goal in the 84th minute but it would not be enough to take the lead over the Oilers.  

Junior goalkeeper Cat Graves recorded three saves on the night, only allowing one to slide past her. The Oilers offense would lead recording eight shots, with five on target to the Panthers 8 shots, four on target.  

The Oilers will be back in action Saturday Oct. 19th as they travel to Canton, Ohio to face off against the Malone University Pioneers. Kickoff is scheduled for 4pm.
