Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay volleyball team is back in the win column after hosting the Northwood University Timberwolves in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) match on Saturday, Oct. 12. Despite a close final set, the Oilers went on to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-20) victory and improve to 13-4 on the season with a 5-2 mark in the conference. Meanwhile, Northwood falls to 13-4 on the year and a 6-2 record in the league.

The Oilers opened the match with all of the momentum, winning the first two sets with relative ease, leading by as much as eleven in the first and ten in the second. The third frame was a bit closer as the Timberwolves kept the contest tight. With the score at 18-18 late in the set, the Oilers went on a 7-2 run which included four consecutive points to end the set. 

Findlay would hit .230 in the match, including a match-high .387 in the first set. Northwood struggled, hitting .000, with the Oilers holding them to negative percentages in the second and third sets. 

Junior Alana Pohlman had a match-high 11 kills while accumulating six blocks. Freshman Grace Auer had nine kills while adding three blocks of her own.

Sophomore Hannah Miller also had a good night, posting eight kills and picking up one block and three digs while junior Kenzie Hoelscher, who finished with six kills, hit an impressive .750.

Helping run the offense was junior Emma White who had 33 assists and six digs while senior Ava Doster tallied a team-high 12 digs.

The Oilers hit the road for the annual Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover which will take place in Hammond, Ind. on Oct. 18-19.
