Hammond, Ind.- The University of Findlay's volleyball team traveled to the 16th Annual Midwest Region Crossover, which features 38 teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC), and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Day one, Friday Oct. 18, the Oilers faced the Indianapolis Greyhounds before ending the day with the Northern Michigan Wildcats. Findlay split the matches, winning over UIndy before falling against the Wildcats in the afternoon.
Game One vs. UIndy | W 3-1
In their first match of the day, the Oilers won 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-23) over the Greyhounds.
Despite dropping the first set, the Oilers rattled off three consecutive wins to take the match. As a team, Findlay hit .239 while making 66 kills and recording 22 errors. Meanwhile, they held Indianapolis to just a .207 hitting percentage while allowing 57 kills and forcing 22 errors.
Leading the Oilers was sophomore Hannah Miller who recorded a team-high 17 kills. Juniors Kenzie Hoelscher and Alana Pohlman added 15 kills and 14 kills, respectively. Hoelscher hit .263 while Pohlman hit a team-high .355. 
Freshman Grace Auer also played well, amassing 13 kills. She also chipped in nine digs.
Running the offense was junior Emma White who amassed 50 assists. 
Senior Ava Doster led the team with 14 digs while White added 13. Meanwhile, Hoelscher had a team-high three blocks.
Game Two vs. Northern Michigan | L 3-2
The second game of the day, the Oilers fell in five sets, 3-2 (16-25, 25-13, 22-25, 25-16, 17-15) to Northern Michigan, a team they faced just a month ago.
Leading 2-1 through three, Northern Michigan won the final two to take the match. As a team, the Oilers hit just .150 with just 54 kills and a devastating 28 errors. Meanwhile, Northern Michigan hit .245, recording 62 kills and making 25 errors. 
Findlay was led on offense by junior Alana Pohlman. She recorded 15 kills while hitting an impressive .407. She also chipped in three blocks and three digs. Junior Kenzie Hoelscher ended the game with 12 kills.
Sophomore Hannah Miller also recorded ten kills while leading the team with nine digs. Senior Ava Doster and sophomore Miya Ellerbrock also had nine digs.
Findlay recorded nine aces, Hoelscher, freshman Grace Auer, Doster, and senior Maya Maurer all had two apiece.
The Oilers will be back in action for the final day of competition, Saturday, Oct. 19. They will face Michigan Tech at 2pm CT, 3pm ET.
