Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Oilers and Cavaliers End in Draw

North Canton, Ohio - The University of Findlay men's soccer team traveled to North Canton to take on Walsh University on Thursday, Oct. 24.  The back and forth contest between conference foes would end in a draw, with a final score of 2-2.  With this tie, the Oilers see their win streak end at four games. Findlay's record now sits at 9-2-2 overall and 7-1-2 in conference play.  The Cavaliers are now 4-7-3 overall and 3-5-2 in conference.

The Oilers would be the first on the board in this contest, when sophomore Tyler Pawlicki put home his first career collegiate goal in the 25th minute.  This lead would end up being short lived, as Walsh forward Josh Sarver scored goals in the 36th and 43rd minutes to give the Cavaliers the lead into the end of the first half.  Findlay was able to respond early in the second half with a Joey Chirco goal in the 58th minute, but were unable to regain the lead and saw the game end with a 2-2 tie.

Although he was not able to find the back of the net, Findlay's Brendan Ash continued to play a key role in the Oiler offense, leading the team with six shots.  As a team, Findlay would outshoot Walsh 20-11.  Another notable from the game was the foul total, with the Oilers drawing 11 fouls and the Cavaliers only being able to draw two.

The Oilers will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 26, when they are back at DeHaven field to take on Thomas More at 4 pm.
