Findlay, OH - The University of Findlay men's soccer team took on Northwood University on Thursday, Oct. 31, defeating the Timberwolves by a score of 6-0. With this victory the Oilers have now reached 10 wins on the year, a mark that they have not reached since the 2017 season. Findlay, who currently resides in second in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) standings, now stands at 10-2-3 overall and 8-1-3 in conference. Meanwhile, Northwood falls to 3-10-2 overall and 3-8-1 in conference.
The offense was on full display for the Oilers, putting up a season high six goals. Getting it started early for the Oilers was senior Christian Palushaj, who put one home in the 7th minute. Findlay would add one more in the first half when Oliver Lindstrom scored on a header by way of a great throw in pass from Tyler Pawlicki. This offensive attack would not stop in the second 45 minutes as the Oilers added four more goals to seal the deal. Lindstrom added one more, along with a goal from Cedrick Rodach and two from Brendan Wishart.
Wishart was a spark off the bench for the Oilers, as in just 24 minutes of play he provided two goals and an assist. Standing tall in between the posts once more for Findlay was junior keeper Keegan Grant, who recorded two saves. Cleaning up was Ethan Hensley, who also recorded two saves in the second half.
The Oilers will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they travel to Painesville to take on Lake Erie College.
