Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay volleyball team took on the Cedarville Yellow Jackets on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Croy Gymnasium. Despite splitting the first two sets, the Oilers went on to win by a score of 3-1 (28-26, 15-25, 25-16, 25-18). That victory gives UF a record of 12-3 on the year with a 5-1 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while Cedarville falls to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in the league.
The Oilers, which have a 7-1 record against the Yellow Jackets at home in the last decade, were in a fight early on as the teams needed extra points to decide the opening set. Findlay returned the favor, taking the third set 25-16 and kept the pressure on in the final frame, winning 25-18.
As a team, the Oilers hit .293 for the match, collecting 63 kills while CU hit .236 and had 53 kills.
