Volleyball Sweeps Walsh in Home Finale

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's volleyball team hosted the Walsh University Cavaliers in Croy Physical Education Center for their final home contest of the regular season. The Oilers picked up a dominant 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-20) to improve to 17-6 on the season with a 9-2 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers fall to 15-10 with a 8-4 record in the league. 

Findlay got off to a quick start, thanks to a five point run early in the set. The Oilers put the set away quickly thanks to a 11-2 run which was capped off by a kill by junior Kenzie Hoelscher.

The second set was a bit more contested as neither team was able to take more than a five point lead. With Findlay leading 22-21, kills by junior Alana Pohlman, sophomore Hannah Miller, and Hoelscher gave the Oilers the second set and a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Oilers held the edge in the third set, leading by as much as five throughout. Despite three consecutive points from the Cavaliers, the Oilers were able to pull off the win by a score 25-20 to sweep the team from North Canton, Ohio.

Findlay was led by junior Alana Pohlman who recorded 14 kills while hitting an impressive .417. Freshman Grace Auer also added 14 kills and five digs. 

Junior Kenzie Hoelscher also had a good day adding eight kills, four service aces, and four blocks. Sophomore Hannah Miller led the team in digs with 13 while also adding seven kills. 

Junior Emma White continues to run Findlay's offense, accumulating 41 assists. She also had nine digs. Meanwhile, senior Ava Doster recorded ten digs.

Findlay will conclude their season with four consecutive road games. They will face Northwood on Nov. 8 at 7pm.
