Billings, Mont. - The University of Findlay concluded their play in the D2CCA Tip Off Classic on Sunday, Nov. 3, as they took on host Montana State - Billings. The Jackets, who are ranked sixth nationally, would come away with a 62-52 victory over the Oilers. With the loss, Findlay falls to 1-2 on the season. Meanwhile, after the victory, MSUB now stands at 2-1 on the season.
It was a slow start for the Oilers, as in the first quarter they struggled from the field, shooting 4-18. MSUB would pull away in the fourth, riding the hot hand of Dyauni Boyce, who would end up with 21 points to cap off the ten point victory for the Jackets.
Leading the Oilers was junior forward
Alyssa Ziehler, who capped off the road trip with 13 points on 4-10 shooting. Ziehler also made her presence felt defensively, nabbing a block and seven rebounds.
Continuing her hot start to the year was sophomore guard
Allie Stockton, who recorded nine points and six rebounds off the bench for the orange and black.
The Oilers will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 8, as the Oilers will be back at Niekamp Arena for the first time this season for their home opener. This will also be the first game of two for Findlay in the Midwest Region Crossover. Tip off will be at 3 pm.
