Box Score Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's basketball team defeated the Walsh University Cavaliers on Saturday, Feb. 3 in Croy Gymnasium by a score of 81-56. With the win, Findlay advances to 10-11 overall and 6-7 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while Walsh falls to 5-13 overall and 3-9 in conference play.
The Oilers started off strong, securing their lead early and keeping it for the duration of the game against Walsh. Findlay put up nine points on the board before the Cavaliers retaliated with a made 3-pointer. The Oilers ended the first half up by 18.
During the fourth quarter, Findlay took their largest lead of 30 points at 75-45. From there, the Orange and Black continued until the final buzzer to end with the victory.
Senior Lauren Hapgood had a stellar game for the Oilers scoring 15 points, having six defensive rebounds, going 75% from the three point line. Sophomore Alyssa Ziehler scored 14 points and was 100% from the free throw line. MacKenzie Schulz collected a total of 10 rebounds and junior Janae Hoying and Schulz each added 11 points to the Oilers score.
The Oilers will be back in action on Feb. 8 when they travel to Tiffin University. That game will tip off at 5:30pm.
