Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Oilers Roll Past Saints | Beat Thomas More 18-6

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team conquered the Thomas More Saints for their last home game of the season this Wednesday, April 10 by a score of 18-6. With this win the Oilers improve to 9-6 in the season and 4-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while the Saints fall to 1-13 overall with a 1-4 mark in conference play.

Less than three minutes into the game, senior Paige Falk scored the first goal for the Oilers and a mere 20 seconds later, sophomore Tessa Chuba added to their lead. Findlay added three more goals to put them ahead of the Saints. However, with less than two minutes left in the quarter, Thomas More scored two goals, ending the quarter 5-2. The Saints kicked off the second quarter with another goal, although Findlay answered right back, adding five more before halftime.

Findlay took a ten goal advantage with just under seven minutes remaining in the contest to force a running clock. From there, the Oilers cruised to an 18-6 win.

Leading the Oilers were seniors Paige Falk and Madeline Shewbridge. Each scored four goals. Falk also chipped in three draw controls. Junior Olivia Alvarado and sophomore Tessa Chuba each added three goals to the Oilers score. Chuba also had a career-high twelve draw controls, one assist, four ground balls and causing two turnovers. Alvarado had two assists, three ground balls, and caused one turnover. 

Senior goalkeeper Olivia Bakowski made a total of 10 saves during play. Defensively, sophomore Brinlee Barry had three ground balls and caused one turnover.

The Oilers will be back in action Wednesday, April 17 when they take on the Dragons in Tiffin. That game is scheduled to start at 1pm.
