Ashland, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team defeated the Ashland University Eagles Saturday, April 20 by a score of 15-12. With the win Findlay improves to 11-6 on the season with a 6-1 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. Meanwhile, the Eagles fall to 10-7 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

In a battle for the second-seed in the Great Midwest tournament, the game featured back-and-forth action throughout. Ultimately, it was Findlay's dominant 7-0 performance in the second quarter that secured the win over the Eagles.

Karissa Allbright scored a career-high four goals and had two ground balls. Sophomore
Tessa Chuba found the back of the net three times, had three assists, caused one turnover and recorded two ground balls. Senior
Madeline Shewbridge scored three goals and had two assists. Senior
Paige Falk scored two goals, had three assists, and an impressive career-high ten draw controls. Â

Olivia Bakowski recorded nine saves and nine ground balls.
With the win, Findlay secured the second seed in the Great Midwest Women's Lacrosse Championship. The Oilers will automatically advance to the semifinals on Thursday, May 2.
