Findlay Oilers (30-18, 17-9 G-MAC) | #5 Seed
2024 Findlay Softball Coaching Staff
The Oilers are 30-18 on the season and hold a 17-9 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. Findlay, who was picked fourth in the pre-season poll, finished the year fifth in the conference. The Oilers will face the fourth-seeded Northwood to open the tournament.

Findlay comes into the tournament with a .313 batting average, the conference's second-best. They've accumulated 410 hits, also ranking second. Their .422 slugging percentage is third in the conference. Defensively, they've struggled, posting a .948 fielding percentage, ranking eleventh in the conference.

Sophomore Alexys Antal leads the pitching staff with a 2.08 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 94.1 innings pitched. Antal, who threw a perfect game for the Oilers earlier this season, was named G-MAC Athlete of the Week and NFCA National Athlete of the Week for her performance against Malone on April 13. The sophomore tossed all five innings and did not allow a base runner. In the perfect game, Antal faced 15 batters, coaxing six fly outs and a pair of ground outs to go along with seven strikeouts.

Senior Molly Pfiffner has a team leading 11-4 record to go along with a 2.63 ERA.
Junior Emma Jones, who recently returned from injury, boasts a 5-2 record this year with a 3.79 ERA and 33 strikeouts.

Antal leads Findlay's offense, topping the team with a .417 batting average, the fifth-best in the conference. During her perfect game, Antal went 6-of-6 at the plate which was a part of a stretch of 15 consecutive at-bats where she reached base. The Topeka, Ind. native has 64 hits on the year which ranked third in a single season at UF.

Sophomore Annika Bredel is hitting .397 while leading the team with 34 RBI. She also leads the team with a .690 slugging percentage. Her batting average ranks sixth in the conference.

Senior Avery Shepherd remains a staple for the Orange and Black. Shepherd, the UF all-time hits leader, is hitting .329 on the year. She is also tied for fourth on the all-time home run list.

This is the third consecutive season that the OIlers have recorded 30+ wins, the first time in program history. This is their twelfth consecutive winning season. Head Coach Danielle Lowe is now the winningest coach at UF in softball. She achieved her 234th win against Trevecca on April 20 to surpass former coach Ron Ammons (233 wins | 2003-2015).
