Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight | Beat NMU 3-0

Marquette, Mich.- The University of Findlay's volleyball team picked up their fourth win of the season against the Northern Michigan Wildcats on Thursday, Sep. 12. A part of the Upper Peninsula Open, the Oilers swept the home team 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-22). With the win, Findlay improves to a perfect 4-0 start on the season, marking the best start to a season since 2017 when the Oilers started with ten consecutive wins. Meanwhile, the Wildcats of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) fall to  3-2.

As a team, Findlay hit .355, picking up 41 kills and making eight errors. The Oilers were able to hold Northern Michigan to a .156 hitting percentage, allowing just 38 kills and forcing 21 errors.

The Oilers were led by junior Kenzie Hoelscher and sophomore Hannah Miller who both led the team with eleven kills. Hoelscher hit .556 while also contributing two blocks. Miller hit .296, recording a team-high 27 attempts. She also led the team in digs with ten. 

Freshman Grace Auer and junior Alana Pohlman also played well for the Orange and Black. Auer had eight kills on the night while also recording a team-high ten digs. Meanwhile, Pohlman chipped in six kills and five blocks.

Running the offense was junior Emma White who recorded 33 assists. She also added nine digs and an ace.

The Oilers will be back in action, tomorrow Sep. 13 as they face #7 St. Cloud State at 12:30pm followed by a nightcap against #20 Michigan Tech at 7:00pm.
