Men's Soccer Falls on the Road to Bloomsburg

Bloomsburg, Pa. – The University of Findlay men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season Saturday, Sep. 14, at the hands of Bloomsburg University.  The closely contested match ended with a 1-0 score. With the loss, the Oilers fall to 2-1 on the young season, while the Huskies improve to 3-1.   

The game was deadlocked until the 83rd minute when a penalty kick was awarded after a yellow on senior Maciej Gaszynski. Junior Keegan Grant was unable to save it, giving the Huskies the 1-0 advantage.
 
Bloomsburg outshot the Oilers 11-10, however, Bloomsburg recorded seven shots on goal, while Findlay only had one. Grant made six saves in the contest while the Huskies' goalkeeper made just one.
 
The Oilers will be back in action Thursday, Sep. 19, when they travel to Ashland University to take on the Eagles at 3:30 for their first conference matchup of the year.
