University Center, Mich.- The University of Findlay women's soccer team traveled north to face off against the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals on Sunday, Sep. 15. After a hard-fought battle, the Oilers ultimately fell against SVSU by a score of 1-0. With the loss the Oilers fall to 0-1-2 while the Cardinals improve to 2-2-0.
The Oilers offense recorded 13 shots, four being on target, to the Cardinals ten, with five on target. Senior
Ellie Janszen contributed five shots with two being on target. While sophomore
Ashlyn Brown and junior
Kaitlyn Siefert both recorded one shot on goal.
Junior goalkeeper
Audrey Gibson-Zweifel recorded four saves but allowed the Cardinals on the board in the 28th minute, the lone goal of the contest.
The Oilers will be back in action Thursday, Sep. 19 as they travel to Ashland, Ohio to face the #16 Eagles to open Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.
