Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Oilers Shutout Yellow Jackets at Home

Findlay, OH - The University of Findlay men's soccer team secured their second conference win of the season as they defeated Cedarville University 3-0 on Thursday, Sep. 26.  With this win, the Oilers rise to 4-2-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play.  Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference.

The game got off to a slow start as both teams struggled to get going offensively.  The Oilers finally broke it open in the 31st minute when senior Brendan Ash scored on the cross from Tyler Pawlicki.  Findlay's impressive passing continued in the 54th minute when sophomore Oliver Lindstrom perfectly executed a header by way of a Christian Palushaj cross.  The Oilers capped the day off in the 75th minute when Mitchell Hanosh scored via the rare corner kick goal.

Coming up big for the Oilers was the defense, as they limited the Yellow Jackets to only three shots on goal.  Standing tall in net for Findlay was goalkeeper Keegan Grant who was able to turn away all three of these shots.  With the win, the Oilers have recorded their first shutout of the year.

The Oilers will be back in action on Saturday, Sep. 21 when they will be back home to take on the Lake Erie storm at 1 pm.
