North Canton, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team traveled to North Canton, Ohio to compete against the Walsh University Cavaliers Saturday Sep. 28th. After a late game comeback, the Oilers fell to the Cavaliers 3-2. With the loss the Oilers dropped 2-2-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play and 2-3-2 overall. While WU advances 1-2-1 in G-MAC play and 4-2-1 overall.
Just 18 minutes into the first half junior Sydney Noble would find the back of the net giving the Oilers the early 1-0 lead. In a late game push the Cavaliers would score three goals in the second half. Junior Payton Miller would score a goal off an assist from senior Ellie Janszen in the last four minutes of play to make the final score 3-2.
Junior goalkeeper Audrey Gibson-Zweifel started the match and recorded six saves, only allowing two to go past her.
The Oilers will be back in action Wednesday Oct. 2nd as they travel to Midland, Mich to face off against the Northwood University Timberwolves.
