Volleyball Extends Streak with Seventh Straight-Set Victory

Findlay, Ohio- Just as they've done in their last six matches, the University of Findlay volleyball team swept their opponent—this time taking down Thomas More inside Croy Physical Education Center on Saturday, Nov. 8. The Oilers haven't dropped a set in nearly a month, winning 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-22) to extend their streak to 21 straight sets.

The Oilers never trailed in the opening set, fueled by a .560 hitting percentage. Findlay limited Thomas More to just five kills and 13 points, holding the Saints to a .901 hitting percentage, ultimately taking a dominant 25-13 win.

Building on that strong start, the Oilers maintained control in the second set, winning 25-15. Thomas More pushed for a third-set comeback, but Findlay closed out the set decisively, taking the final three points to win 25-22 and sweep the visitors from Crestview Hills.

As a team, the Oilers hit an impressive .372 with 45 kills on 94 swings while committing just ten errors. The Oilers also forced 16 errors while holding the Saints to 25 kills on 88 attempts for a .102 clip.

Senior Makenna Belcher led the way for the Oilers with 11 kills on a .364 hitting percentage, adding a block and five digs. Sophomore Grace Auer continued her strong play for the Orange and Black, tallying ten kills while hitting an impressive .450.

Senior Lauren Foerster contributed nine kills, and freshman Victoria Mescher added eight while hitting .636.

Findlay returns to action on Friday, Nov. 14, when they host Northwood inside Croy Physical Education Center. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
