Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's basketball team delivered its most complete performance of the young season on Saturday, Dec. 6th, rolling past Kentucky Wesleyan 92–63 inside Croy Physical Education Center. The victory moves the Oilers to 4–3 overall and 1–1 in G-MAC play. The Panthers fall to 4-3, (1-1 G-MAC).
Findlay controlled the game from start to finish, using efficient shooting, relentless defensive pressure, and a dominating bench effort to outpace the Panthers. The Oilers shot a season-best 51.6 percent from the field while holding Kentucky Wesleyan to just 36.8 percent.
Alyssa Ziehler powered the Oilers with 17 points and nine rebounds, setting the tone in the paint and leading a Findlay squad that finished with 42 points inside. Mackenzie Schulz and
Ariyah Douglas came off the bench to spark an explosive second unit, combining for 32 points.Schulz knocked down three triples on her way to 17 points, while Douglas added 15 points and three steals.
Findlay's depth proved to be a major difference-maker, as the bench poured in 53 points compared to the Panthers' 26.
The Oilers grabbed momentum early and never gave it back. After leading 21–15 after the first quarter, Findlay continued to press the advantage, stretching the margin to 45–33 at halftime. A dominant third quarter—highlighted by sharpshooting and transition buckets—pushed the game out of reach as the Oilers outscored Kentucky Wesleyan 24–16 in the frame.
Findlay's defense was equally impressive, forcing 23 turnovers and converting them into 20 points. The Oilers also controlled the glass with a 41–36 rebounding advantage, including 14 offensive boards that turned into 17 second-chance points.
Offensively, Findlay distributed the ball with precision. Twelve different players scored, and the team recorded 24 assists on 33 made field goals.
Taylor Stanley added nine points and three assists, while
Allie Stockton and
Ella Mescher chipped in with six points each.
For Kentucky Wesleyan, Myah Montgomery led the Panthers with 15 points, and Emma Bruwer added 11.
With the win, Findlay returns to .500 in conference play and carries strong momentum into the remainder of December.
The Oilers will aim to carry this momentum into Thursday, Dec. 11, when they travel to Walsh for a 5:30 p.m. matchup with the Cavaliers.
