Findlay Suffers Tough Loss to Mount Olive

Mount Olive, N.C.- The University of Findlay lacrosse team wrapped up its two-game trip to North Carolina with a matchup against the University of Mount Olive from the Conference Carolinas. The Oilers fell 16-1 to the Trojans on Friday, March 14. With the loss, Findlay drops to 1-8 on the season, while Mount Olive improves to 2-6.

Findlay fell behind early and struggled to make up ground as the game progressed. The Trojans scored nine unanswered goals in the first half.

Trailing 9-0, the Oilers finally got on the board when sophomore Karissa Allbright found the back of the net, unassisted.

It was not enough to bring any momentum as Mount Olive responded with seven more unanswered goals.

The Trojans outshot Findlay 36-to-11 and was almost perfect with 22-of-25 clears. The Oilers also struggled to possess the ball at midfield as Mount Olive won 13 of the 19 draws.

Findlay will now turn their attention to Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play as they travel to Malone on Thursday, March 20. That game will begin at 4pm.
