Late Run of Goals Dooms Oilers Against Walsh

North Canton, Ohio – After a win in the conference opener two days ago, the University of Findlay women's lacrosse team suffered a defeat on Saturday, March 22 at the hands of the Walsh Cavaliers by a score of 12-6. That loss gives UF a 2-9 record on the year with a 1-1 record in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) while Walsh falls to 4-7 overall and 2-0 in the league.

Findlay scored first on Saturday but by halftime, the Cavaliers had taken control, holding a 7-3 lead.

In the third, the Oilers battled their way back into the game as goals by Kaitlin Darby, Tessa Chuba, and Karissa Allbright pulled the Orange and Black to within one at 7-6.

However, that is where the momentum stopped for Findlay as Walsh cemented the win with five goals in the fourth.

Walsh had 26 shots in the game while Findlay managed 15.

Allbright led the way for the Oilers, scoring two goals to go along with an assist. She also had three ground balls. Tessa Chuba also had two goals and won six draw controls.

Findlay is back in action on Saturday, March 29 with a road game against the Northwood Timberwolves. That contest will start at noon.
