Findlay, Ohio - On Thursday, March 6, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced the men's basketball all-conference selections for the 2024-25 season. A pair of Findlay players earned first team recognition as junior
Jagger Landers and sophomore
Will Aljancic were named among the league's best in a season where the Oilers have gone 24-5 thus far and earned the G-MAC regular season championship.
Jagger Landers, a native of Antwerp, Ohio, has earned his first all-conference honor at Findlay after a season where he averaged 10.4 points per game and 4.3 rebounds. Landers shot the ball well, making 49% of his attempts this year from the floor, and was often called on to make threes where he hit 36-of-102 (35%). A starter in all 29 games this season, Findlay's star forward has racked up 754 career points thus far and grabbed 301 rebounds.
Also earning his first all-league honor,
Will Aljancic followed up an impressive freshman campaign with an even better effort in his sophomore season. The Louisville, Ohio native led the team during the regular season at 14.2 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game, scoring more than five points per game higher than a season ago. His top performance of the year was a 31-point outburst on Jan. 18 against Tiffin and his lone double-double of the season was a 14-point, 11-rebound effort against Northwood on Feb. 6.Â
Head Coach
Charlie Ernst has been honored as the G-MAC Coach of the Year for the third time, adding to his awards from both 2018 and 2019. This season, Ernst led the Oilers, which were picked sixth in the preseason poll, to a 17-3 record in conference to go along with a 24-4 regular season record and G-MAC regular season championship, the third in program history and first since the 2018-19 season. During the year, Findlay reached as high as No. 5 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) National Poll, the first time the program has reached the top-five since 2011.
