Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team hosted Davenport University on Thursday, March 6 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The Oilers lost by a score of 9-3 and fall to 1-4 on the season while Davenport improves to 3-2 with the victory.
The Oilers were first on the board when freshman
Breeann Talabac found the back of the net just over a minute into the game, putting UF in front 1-0.
The Panthers responded with four goals over the next ten minutes to take back control of the game at 4-1.
Sophomore
Rebecca Chmiel scored just before the end of the first quarter, a goal which pulled the home team back to within two, however DU scored the only two goals of the second quarter and held a 6-2 advantage at the midway point.
Two more goals for Davenport in the third made the score 8-2 and in the fourth, each team scored once as UF was unable to mount a comeback.
Chmiel scored two goals in the game, had a pair of draw controls, and caused two turnovers. Talabac, who scored the Oilers' other goal, had two caused turnovers, as well.
Sophomore
Karissa Allbright had a pair of assists and three draw controls.
Findlay is back in action on Saturday, March 8 with another home game against Daemen University.
