Game 1 (W 6-5)
A leadoff single by freshman Kenzie Woods got things started for Findlay in the bottom of the first. Two batters later, sophomore Joslynne Frazier blasted a ball over the wall in right field to put UF on top 2-0.
Lake Erie, which all day played much better than its' record would indicate, tied things up at two in the third inning.
In the third, Frazier reached on an error and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by junior Kora Navarro. Findlay created even more separation in the fifth scoring three runs, only one of which came on a hit, an RBI single by junior Aurora Lescody.
Leading 6-2 into the sixth, a leadoff walk would come around to score for the Storm. Two more runs scored on an error and all of the sudden Lake Erie trailed by just one run.
However, in the bottom of the seventh, Lake Erie would go down one, two, three with junior Kayla Dykin earning the save.
Findlay scored six runs on ten hits and made two errors in the game.
Junior Alexys Antal was the winning pitcher, tossing six innings and allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits. She struck out seven.
Game 2 (W 6-3)
In the second game, Findlay first got on the board in the first inning when sophomore Anna Jones and junior Annika Bredel hit back-to-back singles to start frame. That pair would score on an RBI double by Navarro.
The next inning, an RBI double by Jones made the score 3-1 in favor of the home team.
Things slowed down for a few innings, but Lake Erie eventually did make a comeback. In the sixth, a pair of walks to start the frame turned into runs thanks to a Findlay error, one of three in the game for the Orange and Black.
With the game tied at three, the Oilers broke through for three in the sixth thanks to a pair of errors by the Lake Erie defense.
