Findlay Wins Fourth Straight | Earn 17-9 Win at TMU

Crestview Hills, Ky.- The University of Findlay lacrosse team won their fourth straight game, picking up a 17-9 win on the road against the Thomas More University Saints. With the win, Findlay improves to 7-9 on the season with a 6-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Meanwhile, the Saints fall to 2-14 on the year with a 2-5 record in league play.

Thomas More opened the scoring less than a minute into the game, putting the first goal on the board. However, the lead didn't last long, as four different Oilers scored in the first period to give the Orange and Black a 4-1 advantage.

The Saints netted back-to-back goals early in the second quarter to cut the deficit to one, but Findlay responded with four unanswered goals to take a five-goal lead into halftime.

The third quarter saw both teams trade four goals apiece, allowing the Saints to stay within reach. However, Findlay pulled away in the fourth, outscoring the home team 5-2 to secure a dominant 17-9 victory.

Junior Tessa Chuba led the way for Findlay, scoring six goals on eight shots on goal. She also tallied two assists, collected three ground balls, caused two turnovers, and recorded seven draw controls.

Freshman Eloise Kolofer had a strong showing with four goals, while freshman Natalie Wright and sophomores Karissa Allbright and Rebecca Chmiel each added two. Allbright also led the team with eight draw controls.

Findlay will be back in action Wednesday, April 16 as they host the Tiffin Dragons for a Great Midwest matchup. That game will begin at 4pm.
