Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay softball team hosted the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers at Anderson Field on Sunday, April 6, on a day when temperatures hovered just above freezing. As one of the top teams in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), the Oilers continued their strong play with a dominant sweep. Findlay opened the doubleheader with an 8-0 run-rule win in game one, then followed it up with an 11-4 victory in game two. With the sweep, the Oilers improve to 23-9 overall and 10-4 in G-MAC play, while the Panthers fall to 5-26 on the season and 1-11 in the conference.
Game One (W 8-0)
The Oilers got off to a slow start, allowing two hits to the Panthers in the first three batters. With the bases loaded and just one out, Findlay turned a clutch double play to escape the early jam. In the bottom half of the inning, the Oilers went down in order, as their first three batters were retired in succession. Both sides went scoreless in the second inning.
Findlay broke the game open in the bottom of the third. With the bases loaded, sophomore Joslynne Frazier singled to left center to drive in the game's first run. A fielding error by KWC reloaded the bases, setting up junior Alexys Antal for a sacrifice fly to center that made it 2-0. Junior Kayla Dykin followed with a single to shortstop, plating two more runs, and senior Hannah Baker capped the inning with another infield single that brought in two more, giving the Oilers a commanding 6-0 lead.

Game Two (W 11-5)
The Oilers picked up right where they left off in game one. With two runners on, freshman Meghan Heinsman blasted her third home run of the season, giving UFÂ a 3-0 lead after the first inning.
Findlay added one run in both the second and third innings to extend their lead to 5-0.
In the bottom of the fourth, Findlay tacked on three more runs, starting with a fielding error by Kentucky Wesleyan that scored the first run. Freshman Abbi Poths then doubled to right center, driving in another run, before senior Addison Bender hit a sacrifice fly to first base to put the Oilers ahead 8-0.
Kentucky Wesleyan scored three runs in the third and one in the sixth, staying alive in what could have been a run-rule win for Findlay. However, the Oilers responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth, putting the game out of reach with an 11-5 final score as Kentucky Wesleyan was unable to mount a comeback in the seventh.
Junior Alexys Antal earned the win in the circle, improving to 4-3 on the year. She threw the first four innings, allowing no runs on just two hits while striking out two. Sophomore Taylor Morgan relieved her, pitching the final three innings. Morgan gave up five runs on eight hits and struck out two.
