Indianapolis, Ind. - The University of Findlay men's soccer team was back in action on Wednesday, Sep. 10 for a match-up against regional foe UIndy. The Greyhound offense could not be contained, as the Oilers would fall by a score of 6-2. With the loss, Findlay sees their record drop to 0-2 to begin their season. For UIndy, they raise their record to 2-0-1.
The game would open with over 30 minutes of scoreless play, however, UIndy would strike first with a penalty kick goal in the 38th minute. Findlay would respond, however, with a goal of their own in just four minutes later. Scoring was junior
Andre Sardinha, as the Concord University transfer recorded his first goal in the Orange and Black.
The Greyhound offense would not let up, scoring goals in the 44th and 57th minutes to give them a 3-1 lead.
Carson Oberski would try and spark a comeback attempt, finding the back of the net in the 61st minute for his first goal of the year.
UIndy would ultimately pull away, scoring three goals in five minutes to push the score to its eventual final tally of 6-2.
Recording his first career point for Findlay was
Gabe Toops. The freshman would earn an assist on the goal scored by Sardinha.
Goalkeeper
Ethan Hensley would see his first action of the year in between the posts, saving two shots on goal in his 21 minutes of play.
The Oilers will be back in action on Saturday, Sep 13, as they travel to Pennsylvania to take on Lock Haven University. Kick off will be at 12 pm.
