Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's soccer team was back in action on Friday, Sep. 12 for a match-up against regional foe Ferris State. In a very tightly contested affair, the game would end in a 1-1 tie. With today's result, the Oilers move to 1-0-2 on the year, while the Bulldogs now stand at 0-1-2.
Both teams would spend the first half trying to feel out their opponent, as neither of the squads would break into the scoring column.
Payton Miller would give the Oilers two good scoring looks, but two fantastic saves from the Ferris State goalkeeper would keep the game scoreless.
Finally breaking the ice would be the Bulldogs in the 53rd minute, as they would strike on a well placed shot from outside the penalty area to take a 1-0 lead.
After a 20 minute standstill, the Oilers would respond with a goal of their own, as
Sydney Noble would find the back of the net and square things at one apiece. Noble has gotten off to a fast start in her senior campaign, already recording two goals and an assist in three games.
After earning a shutout in her first start of the year, goalkeeper
Cat Graves would record five saves in the match.
The Oilers will be back in action on Sunday, Sep. 14, where they will be back at home for a match-up with Saginaw Valley State. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
