#25 Findlay Sweeps Tiffin to Open G-MAC Play

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay volleyball team opened Great Midwest Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 sweep over Tiffin University on Friday, September 19th inside Croy Physical Education Center. The Oilers posted set scores of 25-18, 25-20, and 25-16 to improve to 6-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Tiffin falls to 2-5 overall, and 0-1 in conference play.

From the first serve, Findlay established control. Senior Emma White set the tone with a service ace and multiple assists, while junior Abria Lomax, senior Makenna Belcher, and junior Hannah Miller combined for a balanced attack that kept Tiffin off balance throughout the first set. 
After pulling ahead early, the Oilers maintained their advantage and closed the frame with a service ace from junior Jenna Leugers, winning 25-18.

In the second set, Findlay continued to pressure Tiffin with aggressive serving and consistent net play. Senior White distributed the offense effectively, feeding Lomax, Miller, and Belcher, who collectively produced a series of timely kills. 

Senior Lauren Foerster added key points in the middle, while defensive specialists junior Kirsten Bomholt and Emma White provided stability in the back row. Despite a brief surge by Tiffin, Findlay maintained composure and closed the set 25-20.

The third set saw the Oilers assert full control. Foerster, Miller, and Belcher led a powerful offensive effort, while senior Alana Pohlman contributed with key kills and blocks. The Oilers sealed the sweep with a 25-16 set win, showcasing their all-around strength.

Individually, senior Makenna Belcher led Findlay with 14 kills and five digs, while senior Lauren Foerster added 11 kills on a .435 hitting percentage. 

Junior Hannah Miller contributed eight kills, and junior Abria Lomax finished with eight kills on an efficient .583 clip. Emma White recorded 36 assists, 11 digs, and three aces, while Kirsten Bomholt anchored the back row with 10 digs.

The Oilers will return to action on Monday, September 22nd as they take on Heidelberg for the Outdoor Match at Hoernemann Stadium.
