Midland, Mich. - The University of Findlay men's soccer team was back in action on Thursday, Sep. 25 for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) match-up with Northwood University. In a very close and physical game, the end result would be a 1-1 tie. With the draw, the Oilers now stand at 2-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves move to 0-2-4 overall and 0-1-2 in conference.
The scoring would get started early in this one, as Northwood would just out to a 1-0 lead just 12 minutes into the contest. However, this lead would be short lived as the Oilers would add a goal of their own just 10 minutes later. Finding the back of the net was
Leo Egerer, his second goal of the season. Earning his team high fourth assist of the campaign was
Tyler Pawlicki, as the junior continues to impressively orchestrate the Findlay offense.
The Oilers would out-shoot their opponent 17-9 in the contest, including seven shots coming from
Tom Middleham. Despite this, the Orange and Black could not add on to their early goal leading to the 1-1 final.
The game would be very physical throughout, with 22 total fouls being handed out. There would also be three yellow cards assessed, with two being given to Northwood and one to Findlay.
The Oilers will be back at home on Saturday, Sep. 27 for a match-up with Ohio Dominican. Kick off is set for 1 pm.
